Cables and tracks keep your garage door moving in a straight line. When a cable snaps or a track gets bent, the door can jam, fall, or go crooked. We replace frayed and broken cables, straighten bent tracks, and realign everything so the door glides the way it should. We also check the drums and brackets to make sure nothing else is about to fail.
Garage door cables are steel wires that connect to the bottom of the door and wrap around drums at the top. They work with the springs to lift and lower the door in a controlled way. The tracks are the metal rails on each side of the door that the rollers ride in. Together, cables and tracks keep the door moving straight and steady.
You need cable and track repair when your door hangs crooked, gets stuck partway, makes scraping or grinding noises, or has a cable hanging loose. If the door came off the track completely, you will see it sitting at an angle. Bent tracks usually happen when something hits the door or a roller pops out of the track. Frayed cables are a sign they could snap soon.
We need access to both sides of the garage door and the area above it. If the door is off the track or jammed, do not try to force it. We will safely release the tension and get everything back in place. We bring replacement cables and track hardware on our truck so we can usually finish the repair the same day.
